Webmail

SquirrelMail is the supported software used by the college to give you access to your Goldsmiths email account via a web browser. It's for people on the move and needing to check their mail quickly from a temporary location - be it an internet cafe or a friend's computer - at home or abroad.

For security reasons, Webmail will time out after a period of inactivity (sending a message, opening a message for reading - not just composing a message).

Webmail is not intended to be used as your main mail facility. If you are using it on a regular basis from College or home and find the timeouts inconvenient, you should consider using Mulberry instead. Mulberry is available on all College PCs and Macs, and you can install it on your own computer for use from home.

Please note: you may not be able to send an email to more than 20 recipients owing to anti-spam measures used by Goldsmiths and other major mail providers. In trying to do so, your account may be blocked. Goldsmiths IT Services can setup a mailing list for you if you wish to send out repeated emails to many recipients. Emails sent out by our mailing list software will be accepted by Google and Hotmail.

Under no circumstances should you reply to an email asking you for your password. Goldsmiths IT Services will NEVER ask you for your password. An email asking you to confirm or verify your account, either by replying to an email or by logging into a website, is fraudulent.
